On your device
IQdle stores an anonymous player identifier, game progress, preferences, and result history in your browser's local storage. You can export or delete those records from the Record screen.
On the server
When the comparison service is available, IQdle stores the following under that random identifier. It does not ask for your name, email address, or an account.
- Each paper you start, daily or practice: the paper date, start and finish times, score, questions solved, active time, time the page was hidden or out of focus, how many papers this browser had finished before, your streak, and whether you shared the result.
- Each answer: the puzzle, the option you chose or that you skipped, whether it was right, points, time taken, time away from the page, and whether you answered by mouse, touch, pen, or keyboard.
- Device context: touch or pointer screen, screen width, time-zone offset, and browser language.
IQdle uses this to rank daily papers against other players, to check that each puzzle is fair and correctly labelled for difficulty, and to improve the game. Analysis is done on the collected results as a whole. IQdle does not store IP addresses in its database or combine this data with other sources. Cloudflare, which hosts IQdle, processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver and protect the service.
Answer-level data is kept for up to two years, then deleted or reduced to aggregate counts.
Sharing
Sharing uses your browser's native share or clipboard feature after you ask it to. IQdle does not read your contacts.
Cookies and advertising
This release does not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or a third-party analytics SDK.
Your choices
You may play while the comparison service is unavailable. Reset records on the Record screen deletes this browser's IQdle data and, when the service is reachable, everything stored on the server under its anonymous identifier.
